US News EarNoseThroat Badge 2025-26

Montefiore Einstein Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull base Surgery is recognized for its expertise in managing complex nasal, sinus and skull base conditions, including chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, nose bleeds, chronic rhinorrhea, anosmia and sinonasal and skull base tumors. Our world-renowned fellowship-trained surgeons are experts in endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, sinonasal tumor surgery and endoscopic orbital surgery. Our team utilizes state-of-the-art technology and image guidance to treat patients with individualized and specialized care. We’re ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for ear, nose, and throat care, according to U.S. News & World Report.

Our Division offers the full range of care for nasal and sinus disease, focusing on providing individualized and the least invasive approach possible for an individual patient. Our treatments include endoscopic sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, balloon sinuplasty, in-office turbinate reduction and radiofrequency ablation. Using advanced imaging and minimally invasive techniques, including transorbital neuroendoscopic surgery (TONES), our specialists are able to address complex skull base tumors (benign and malignant) with enhanced precision and reduced recovery times. We also provide nonoperative management options, including saline nasal washes, topical nasal sprays and patient education. We work closely with physicians in the Departments of Allergy and Immunology, Neurological Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pathology and Neuroradiology to provide comprehensive care for patients with sinus and nasal disorders.

Our comprehensive care integrates the latest research and technology, helping to ensure personalized treatment plans for each patient. Our division is very active in the American Academy of Otolaryngology, American Rhinologic Society and North American Skull Base Society. We have co-authored over 140 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of rhinology and skull base surgery.

Advanced Diagnostics & Treatments

We offer advanced treatments for a variety of nasal and sinus conditions, specializing in minimally invasive approaches for conditions including chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, sinonasal and skull base tumors. Our diagnosis and treatment focus on personalized care and reduced recovery times. By integrating the latest surgical techniques and nonoperative therapies, we ensure comprehensive care tailored to the specific needs of each patient. We offer treatment options ranging from in-office procedures including balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reduction, posterior nasal nerve radiofrequency ablation to advanced minimally invasive endoscopic sinus surgery and endoscopic skull base surgery. We use advanced technology and image-guidance systems to assist our surgeries. Our team also combines expertise in rhinology with other disciplines. We work closely with facial plastic surgery to provide reconstructive and cosmetic solutions for conditions including facial and nasal fractures and rhinoplasty, helping to both restore function and achieve aesthetic goals. We also work closely with neurological surgery to manage skull base tumors and lesions.

Rhinology tumor cases are presented and discussed at a multidisciplinary tumor conference. At this conference, specialists from otolaryngology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, neurosurgery, radiology and pathology meet to discuss each case and develop the best possible treatment plan for each patient.
