Cancer Navigator: What to Expect
From your first visit, a cancer nurse navigator will be there to assist you and will remain your trusted resource throughout your treatment, coordinating all your care. Your cancer nurse navigator will set up your appointments and provide you with everything you need to know about our support and patient services. These compassionate, caring, knowledgeable professionals are always by your side:
- Providing information about your diagnosis and treatment
- Connecting you and your loved ones to a social worker and other resources
- Informing you and your family about ongoing classes, events and support groups
- Identifying clinical trials and studies you may qualify for

Your nurse navigator is your personal guide to all of our top-ranked Comprehensive Cancer Center’s resources, so you can feel comfortable asking questions. By participating in every step of your care, your cancer nurse navigator can ease your anxiety and help you feel comfortable with your treatment process. In addition, they can provide answers about your next steps, schedule your appointments and follow-up visits, and coordinate with your entire care team to ensure continuity of care and consistent communications.
