Take Charge of Your Health During Colon Cancer Awareness Month
At Montefiore Einstein, raising awareness about the importance of colorectal cancer screening and prevention is a year-round commitment. In March, we expand our efforts with a series of activities and events designed to help our community get involved, stay informed and take steps toward improving long-term colon health. Understanding your risk factors and the appropriate screening age can reduce your risk of colorectal cancer, particularly after reaching 45 years old.
With colon cancer on the rise among younger adults, screening is an important part of staying healthy after age 45. Knowing your risk and when you should start getting tested can prevent colon cancer and save lives.
Consult with one of our Patient Navigators about your risk, when you should start testing, and how to prevent colon cancer.
