Continuing Medical Education
Ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for cancer by U.S. News and World Report, NCI-designated Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center offers coursework, hands-on skills training and other continuing medical education (CME) resources to help physicians, nurses and care professionals stay up to date on the latest developments in patient care and research. These resources provide fresh insights into evidence-based approaches to cancer treatments and available clinical trials including those offered at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center.
CME Program Offerings
Continuing medical education programs at our Cancer Center include:
- Grand Rounds. Attendings, residents, medical students and other health professionals are invited to attend Grand Rounds, in which experts discuss the details of a complex patient case.
- Tumor Boards. These presentations bring together cancer specialists from many disciplines to review individual patient cases, with the goal of developing a comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment plan. Learn more about tumor boards.
About the Center for Continuing Professional Development
CME program offerings at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center are administered through the Montefiore Einstein Center for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD). Our Center is accredited by the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education to provide continuing medical education for healthcare professionals.
Healthcare professionals and physician-scientists are lifelong learners and required to complete a determined number of CME credits within their specialty each year. The overall objective of the Center for Continuing Professional Development is to provide a comprehensive and far-reaching continuing interprofessional education program that delivers measurable positive changes in participants’ knowledge, competence, performance, and behavior to continually improve quality and safety of care delivered.
