Changing Lives through Unprecedented Innovation

Setting the Standard for New Neuroscience Discoveries & Advanced Treatment Strategies

At Montefiore Einstein, we bring together our culture of explosive innovation including basic, translational and clinical research breakthroughs to advance our understanding of the nervous system across a wide range of closely interrelated research areas of neuroscience including cellular and molecular, systems biology, developmental, cognitive and behavioral, bioinformatics/AI, and clinical. Our unique collaborative and interdisciplinary study of the nervous system has led to notable groundbreaking discoveries, some of which include that the peripheral nervous system gives rise to cancer and metastases, and that the brain is the seat of longevity and the key player in regulating glucose metabolism in diabetes.

Leaders in the Science of Neurological Care

At the Montefiore Einstein Neuroscience Center, we are committed to applying the latest biomedical breakthroughs and technological innovations to advance our understanding of the underlying mechanisms mediating the full spectrum of neurological disorders. Our development of revolutionary diagnostic and treatment paradigms to prevent, delay, ameliorate and eventually cure diseases that are frequently chronic and debilitating, and provides hope and inspiration to patients, families and interconnected communities.

We are at the forefront of numerous advanced NIH-funded translation research initiatives, and associated clinical trials, to advance treatments of targeted neurological diseases, including: early detection and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and pre-dementia syndromes; post-traumatic epilepsy; brain health and resilience during aging; neuroprotective and neuroregenerative strategies to promote healthy brain function, as well as defining the broad and complex neurologic and systemic effects of SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 following acute and chronic infection.
