University Behavioral Associates
University Behavioral Associates (UBA) works hand in hand with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences to help patients overcome a wide range of substance use and behavioral disorders through our uniquely designed inpatient and outpatient services and treatments. The department also has a comprehensive emergency and crisis program, one of the most advanced neuropsychiatric service centers and an exceptional recovery plan for those with a dual diagnosis of substance use and psychiatric disorders.
Inpatient Psychiatry
Inpatient psychiatric services for adult and geriatric patients at Montefiore Einstein are provided within the general hospital at the Moses and Wakefield Campuses. Both units treat patients with a wide range of affective, psychotic and neuropsychiatric disorders. Our treatment team, which includes psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed creative arts therapists and nursing staff, collaborates to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and determine individualized treatment plans that include an at-home care plan once the patient leaves the inpatient program.
Intensive Outpatient Psychiatry Programs
The Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) provide intensive medication management and psychotherapy services for adolescents and adults with a range of mental health conditions who require a higher level of care. The IOPs are structured treatment options tailored for patients who are experiencing worsening mood and anxiety symptoms and need more support than traditional outpatient therapy.
Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
Montefiore Einstein provides comprehensive psychiatric consultation services for patients hospitalized for medical, pediatric or surgical care at all three of our hospital campuses—Moses Campus, Wakefield Campus and Jack D. Weiler Hospital. The psychiatry consult team works closely with the patient’s primary healthcare team to diagnose and treat psychiatric issues that may arise during medical treatment and to ensure continuity of care for those patients diagnosed with both psychiatric and medical illnesses.
Transplant Psychiatry
The Montefiore Einstein Transplant Psychiatry team provides the highest level of intensive, expeditious, patient-centered clinical care for individuals before or after organ transplant procedures. Our experts understand the complex psychological, cognitive and emotional challenges that every patient faces before and after these procedures, and our multidisciplinary team endeavors to optimize recovery by identifying and addressing any underlying psychiatric conditions.
Emergency Psychiatry
Montefiore Einstein provides comprehensive emergency psychiatric services for patients who present to the emergency departments at Moses Campus, Wakefield Campus or Jack D. Weiler Hospital. This specialized mental health care is designed to stabilize patients who require immediate psychiatric intervention.
