About Our Program
The Geriatric Psychiatry Program provides specialty services for older adults experiencing behavioral health issues through the Moses Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Division at Montefiore Einstein. The Geriatric Psychiatry Division excels in collaborative care across community-based agencies that are sensitive to the increasing number of older adults.
Patients receive care from a multidisciplinary team of fellows at a certified home healthcare agency, a naturally occurring retirement community and a teaching nursing home. Our patient-centered, psychiatric clinical care team of professionals includes psychiatrists, psychologists, geriatric psychiatry nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors and licensed creative arts therapists.
The Moses Adult Clinic is a community-based health center serving the Bronx and Westchester Counties. Our program provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment for a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions in adults aged 18 and older. Our mission is to advance and transform the care of mental illness and addiction for the communities we serve through excellence in clinical service, education, and research.
Our Services
To support the growing number of seniors needing mental health care in the Bronx and Westchester County communities, the Geriatric Psychiatry Department connects patients with a compassionate, multidisciplinary treatment team that understands that many within the elderly population are often managing complex mental health disorders and require specialized treatment. Experts work with patients to develop individualized treatment plans supported by participation in individual, family and group therapy sessions. Special attention is given to co-occurring, age-related cognitive impairment or functional decline.
The Geriatric Psychiatry Program also consults medical inpatients and nursing home residents, and makes house calls to aging patients in the community. All Montefiore Einstein programs are equipped to provide behavioral health services in person or via our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
