Jack D. Weiler Hospital, located on our Einstein Campus, is a 421-bed facility known for delivering advanced, specialized care in cardiology, pediatrics, social medicine and more. Weiler Hospital is known for its advanced surgical services, emergency care and specialized departments, including Oncology, Neurology and Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health. Our strong focus on emergency care, women’s health and maternal care provides rich hands-on experience for nurses seeking advanced clinical exposure.

  • Emergency Department

    Nurses at our Adult Emergency Department provide critical care for patients with severe injuries, ensure rapid assessment and intervention and collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop personalized care plans. 

    Our Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA)-recognized Geriatric Emergency Department (GED) provides specialized, age-sensitive care tailored to the complex healthcare needs of older adults. Nurses receive extensive training to manage age-specific conditions such as falls, delirium, cognitive impairment, medication sensitivity, chronic disease exacerbations and frailty. Nurses are integral to GEDA’s mission of providing specialized, effective and compassionate care for older adults, enhancing clinical outcomes and patient experiences.

  • Critical Care

    Weiler Hospital offers a comprehensive range of critical care services, including medical intensive care, general surgical intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery intensive care, neuroscience intensive care, trauma intensive care and acute coronary care.

    Working to ensure patient stability, nurses on our critical care teams receive extensive training, empowering them to manage complex and severe medical conditions using advanced technologies.

    As part of our exceptional critical care, Weiler is designated as a Primary Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health, leading in stroke care with rapid evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for acute stroke events. Stroke-certified nurses are an integral part of the multidisciplinary stroke care team.  

  • Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Services

    Nurses at Weiler play a crucial role in delivering exceptional maternity care and supporting the well-being of mothers and their babies. With extensive training in obstetrics and gynecology, nurses play a vital role in supporting maternity services and work closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, nutritionists, social workers and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care for their patients.

    Weiler holds the Baby-Friendly designation from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), awarded to hospitals that are dedicated to supporting breastfeeding, parent education and strong mother-infant bonds. Our nurses and clinical staff receive comprehensive training to provide lactation support and education.

    The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Weiler Hospital, a state-of-the-art Level IV Regional Perinatal Center (RPC), is a specialized facility dedicated to caring for critically ill and at-risk newborns, providing advanced medical services for premature infants and those with complex medical conditions.

    Our NICU’s multidisciplinary team includes nurse practitioners and specialized nurses, all trained to meet the unique needs of fragile newborns. The unit emphasizes developmental care strategies to support the physical and emotional well-being of infants and their families, offering continuous education, emotional support and discharge planning to help families transition home successfully.
