Message from the Director

June 26, 2023

Living with Sickle Cell Disease presents unique challenges compared to other chronic medical conditions, and we are prepared to support you through these difficulties:

  • Managing pain is a significant hurdle, with some individuals experiencing it for up to 50% of their days.
  • Many individuals require advanced pain management medications outside of common use by medical professionals.
  • Sudden and disabling crises can make it challenging to attend school or maintain employment.

Our team is dedicated to assisting you with these issues, particularly in this era of advancements in life-prolonging and curative therapies. We encourage you to visit our center, which offers daily outpatient clinics, day infusion chairs, emergency consultations, telemedicine for medication renewals and mental health therapy and a comprehensive range of specialty services for specialized care. We also offer access to gene therapy as well as matched and half-matched Allogenic transplants.

Best regards,
