Centro Médico Beth Israel - Tercer año

Se trata de una rotación para residentes de sexto o octavo año (PGY-6 o PGY-8) destinada a brindarles una experiencia de tres meses en cirugía plástica en el Centro Médico Beth Israel.

Los objetivos de la rotación son que el residente jefe desarrolle una competencia operatoria de alto nivel en casos de cirugía plástica y que trabaje en estrecha colaboración con cirujanos plásticos con una gran actividad en cirugía estética, así como en cirugía de cabeza y cuello y reconstrucción mamaria.

Al finalizar la rotación, el residente jefe deberá demostrar competencia y experiencia en:

1. Defectos congénitos de la cabeza y el cuello.
2. Neoplasms of the head and neck, including the oropharynx, and the importance of endoscopy in the management of these cases.
3. Aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery of the head and neck, trunk, and extremities.
4. Plastic surgery of the breast.
5. Plastic surgery of congenital and acquired defects of the trunk and genitalia.
6. Microsurgical techniques applicable to plastic surgery.
7. Reconstruction by tissue transfer, including flaps and grafts.
8. Surgery of benign and malignant lesions of the skin and soft tissues.
