BOLD offers a one-year internship opportunity for undergraduate, postgraduate and gap-year students passionate about making a difference in the lives of people navigating a cancer diagnosis in our community.
Program Overview
Our internship provides valuable experience working as a patient navigator while offering two $500 stipends distributed over the program duration. You’ll receive professional mentorship from experienced staff who understand the challenges faced by people navigating a cancer diagnosis. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and complete a research project that will be presented to the Montefiore Einstein community, allowing you to contribute meaningful insights to cancer support services.
Intern Responsibilities
As a BOLD intern, you’ll assess the quality-of-life needs of cancer patients and their families, helping to understand their unique challenges and concerns. You’ll connect community members with resources that can make a real difference in their cancer journey. Your role will include assisting with community outreach initiatives to ensure people who need support are aware of available services. You’ll also support program operations and data management, contributing to the effectiveness of BOLD’s programs. Throughout your internship, you’ll complete a mentored research project that will be shared with peers and professionals across Montefiore Einstein.
Time Commitment & Location
- Eight hours per week for one full calendar year
- Hybrid format with at least 50% of hours in-person at one or more of the following locations:
- BOLD office (1300 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York)
- BOLD Cancer Wellness Space (1575 Blondell Avenue, Bronx, New York)
- Various community outreach locations throughout the Bronx
How to Apply
To be eligible for the BOLD 1-Year Internship Program, applicants must be at least 16 years old and have completed high school by the time the internship begins. Applications are accepted three times per year—for the winter, summer and fall terms. When choosing which term to apply for, please consider your availability over the next full year.
