Urology Education & Training
Montefiore Einstein Urology residencies and fellowships offer early operative experience, diverse research opportunities and broad exposure to a range of urologic conditions. Residents also have access to strong mentorship and benefit from a positive culture that advocates doing what’s best for our patients, residents, faculty and staff.
Our faculty are enthusiastic about teaching and continue to develop more interactive and engaging ways to teach our residents. Within the programs, residents and fellows play a key role in caring for our patients and are important members of every care team. In this supportive environment, our residents and fellows become a close-knit group, training side by side in our facilities and exploring New York City in their free time.
Diversity of Experience
As a premier academic medical center serving the Bronx, Westchester County and the Lower Hudson Valley, Montefiore Einstein offers its postgraduate trainees comprehensive exposure to diverse patients and pathologies. The broad range of experience available prepares our postgraduate trainees for future careers in their chosen field, whether in research, clinical and/or nonclinical settings.
Residency Program
Our urology residents get operative experience early and quickly develop autonomy in evaluating and managing patients. They also receive a high volume of experience in subspecialties like endourology, urologic oncology, female pelvic reconstructive surgery, pediatric urology and male prosthetic surgery. In addition, residents benefit from balanced exposure to various surgical approaches, including endoscopic, robotic and open surgery.
Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship
We are one of only a few hospitals in the nation offering an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited joint fellowship program in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery in collaboration with Montefiore Einstein Obstetrics & Gynecology and Women’s Health with a focus on the diagnosis and treatment of female pelvic floor disorders. Fellows in the Program gain exposure to diverse patients and pathologies in a collegial learning environment that fosters collaboration, mentorship and creativity across clinical and research settings.
