The ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® is the most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can earn for nursing excellence. This designation reflects a deep and sustained commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care, professional development and transformational nursing leadership. Magnet®-designated hospitals consistently demonstrate better patient outcomes, lower mortality rates, higher patient satisfaction and stronger staff engagement.
At Montefiore Einstein, we are proud to include several campuses among the fewer than 10% of U.S. hospitals that have achieved Magnet® status—each one a national model of nursing excellence:
- Montefiore Einstein Hospital, Wakefield Campus: the only Magnet®-recognized hospital in the Bronx—a powerful testament to its exceptional nursing leadership and quality care
- White Plains Hospital: Magnet®-designated and recognized four times for its strong professional practice environment and outstanding clinical outcomes
- Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital: a Magnet®-designated hospital advancing innovation, collaboration and nurse empowerment in every setting. Montefiore St. Luke’s has achieved Magnet® recognition twice, most recently with nine ANCC exemplars, consistently outperforming national benchmarks
Magnet® designation at Montefiore Einstein is a system-wide effort, fueled by our Nursing Professional Governance model. Through professional governance and leadership councils, bedside nurses and clinical leaders collaborate to shape nursing practices, uphold the highest standards of care and contribute directly to the rigorous documentation and outcomes required for Magnet® success.

The Pathway to Excellence® designation, also awarded by the ANCC, recognizes healthcare organizations that foster a positive practice environment in which nurses feel respected, supported and empowered to lead.
