Artist-in-Residence Program

Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care

The Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care's Artist-in-Residence Program brings creative arts to adult oncology patients. A trained artist works onsite one day a week, doing a variety of fun, artistic projects with patients while they are receiving chemotherapy treatment.

This program was initiated through a LIVESTRONG Foundation Community Impact Project award. Montefiore competed with 10 other hospitals in the Northeast, and won first place in the region after receiving over 3,200 online votes from associates, community members, and others. The award was provided to replicate the hospital artist-in-residence program of The Creative Center, a nonprofit arts-in-healthcare organization in New York City.
