Our Approach to Interventional Cardiology
We're ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for heart and vascular care according to U.S. News & World Report. Montefiore Einstein Interventional Cardiology is dedicated to the proper diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of coronary artery, valvular and congenital heart disease. Our Center for Heart and Vascular Care has been internationally renowned as a pioneering leader in cardiac care for the past 60+ years. In 1958, we developed the world’s first transvenous cardiac pacemaker. And in 1960, we performed the world’s first coronary artery bypass operation. Our Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) Program is one of the few in the world performing pulmonary endarterectomy (PTE), an advanced surgical procedure to remove clots from the blood vessels in the lungs. We continue to lead the way in the discovery of advanced treatments and protocols for coronary disease, housing one of the leading catheterization facilities in the United States.
