About Our Program
Montefiore Einstein provides comprehensive psychiatric consultation services for patients at all three of our hospital campuses–Moses Campus, Wakefield Campus and Jack D. Weiler Hospital. This specialized mental health support is available for patients hospitalized for medical, pediatric or surgical care.
The psychiatry consult team works closely with the patient’s primary healthcare team to diagnose and treat psychiatric issues that may arise during medical treatment and to ensure continuity of care for those patients diagnosed with both psychiatric and medical illnesses. Our psychiatry consult teams are also equipped with addiction specialists who are available to see hospitalized patients whose treatment may be complicated by problematic substance use.
Our Services
The consultation-liaison psychiatry service at Montefiore Einstein is a collaboration between psychiatrists and other medical professionals, including the patient’s primary doctors. Our multidisciplinary team addresses the mental health needs of every individual as they relate to physical illness or surgical procedures by performing a thorough consultation and evaluation. They then partner with the medical team to determine the unique needs of every patient. and can then facilitate referrals for ongoing psychiatric care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Our programs are equipped to provide behavioral health services in person or via our Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant telehealth platform. Most insurance providers offer coverage for our services—please call to inquire. Additionally, multilingual or interpreter services may be available.
