Message from the Chair
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Montefiore Einstein has been dedicated to excellence in patient care, medical education and research since its establishment in 1970. We have expanded significantly in all areas of otorhinolaryngology over the past five decades. With depth of knowledge and expertise in all areas of otorhinolaryngology, we continue to deliver expert care to our patients across all socioeconomic backgrounds, working with our outside partners to bring the highest level of care to the Hudson Valley and beyond.
We are proud to highlight the expansion of our clinical practice, with new practice sites throughout the metropolitan area. We have expanded our practice in Westchester County, serving adults at Montefiore Einstein Advanced Care (MEAC) in Elmsford at 555 Taxter Road, and children at White Plains Hospital in Harrison at 600 Mamaroneck Avenue. At MEAC, we focus on patients with head and neck cancer, thyroid/parathyroid disorders, otologic and neurotologic diseases, rhinology and skull base issues, sleep disorders, and facial aesthetic and reconstructive issues. We are also seeing facial aesthetic and reconstructive patients at the newly opened Greenwich Street 497 practice in Tribeca, and we see complex head and neck and skull base patients at our site in Flushing. To facilitate the surgical management of these patients, we have also expanded our adult and pediatric surgical sites. This growth is essential to improving access to advanced care and supporting our relationships with community partners.
In addition to our robust clinical practice, we are dedicated to medical education and research. With more than 25 faculty members at Montefiore Einstein and 20 residents in our residency program, we offer advanced training in all subspecialties in otorhinolaryngology, including head and neck surgery. Our faculty believes education to be a core component of medical practice. We continue our commitment to research through successful participation in clinical trials and expansion of our grant portfolio in translational and quality research.
We look forward to continued growth across the department, with new areas of clinical care and research and education initiatives.
