Our Approach to General Urology & Benign Prostate Conditions
Montefiore Einstein General Urology provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art care for the full range of urologic conditions, from urinary issues, kidney cysts and blood in the urine, penile and scrotal conditions, to benign prostate conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Our team of world-renowned doctors specializes in detecting and treating a broad spectrum of genitourinary (GU) conditions, from the common to the most complex. We use the most advanced diagnostics and treatments to restore function of the GU tract, relieve pain and improve the quality of life for each patient. We’re ranked in the top 1% of all hospitals in the nation for urology according to U.S. News & World Report, and we are an international referral site for the most complex cases.
Our multidisciplinary team uses an individualized approach to urological care. We tailor prevention, diagnostic and treatment strategies based on each patient’s unique needs and clinical findings, including genetic, metabolic, environmental and lifestyle factors. Through close collaboration, we coordinate care with other subspecialties in urology, as well as primary care physicians, endocrinologists, nephrologists, oncologists, cardiologists, radiologists, pathologists, geneticists, dieticians and other specialists to help deliver the highest-quality care and best possible outcomes for each patient.

Research & Clinical Trials
We are leading collaborative research and spearheading numerous studies and clinical trials, including several funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and translating novel scientific discoveries into new diagnostics and treatments to help improve clinical outcomes.
Our researchers have made substantial contributions to the field of urology and continue to actively conduct basic science, translational and clinical research to advance our understanding, treatment and prevention of a broad spectrum of urological conditions. Our research focuses on exploring underlying mechanisms, developing new treatments and optimizing outcomes for numerous urological diseases, from urinary incontinence and urinary tract infections to BPH.
We are a world leader in both basic science and translational research in erectile and bladder physiology, and our department has made significant contributions to the field of urology. We are spearheading clinical trials for the treatment of overactive bladder using an innovative gene transfer technology that was developed at Montefiore Einstein.
Through our clinical trials, we’re able to provide patients with access to treatments not yet available to the general public.
