Division of Pediatric Imaging
The Division of Pediatric Imaging at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) is home to a team of board certified and certificate of added qualification (CAQ), fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists who specialize in the examination and interpretation of prenatal through adolescent imaging.
Our team works exclusively with pediatric patients, covering the full spectrum of pediatric pathology, while meeting the needs of pediatric patients and a multidisciplinary team of doctors. Our imaging and diagnostic approach minimizes radiation exposure as much as possible. Every member of our team skillfully uses the full spectrum of imaging methods and technologies at CHAM. Our facility includes state-of-the art equipment, including the technology listed below:
- Ultrasonido
- CT scans
- MRI scans
- Fluoroscopy (including esophagrams, upper gastrointestinal series, barium enemas and voiding cystourethrograms)
- Diagnostic angiography
- Interventional radiology
- Neuroradiology (diagnostic and interventional)
- General radiography (X-rays)
Investigación
Our team of pediatric radiologists is actively involved in the training and education of medical students, residents and fellows. We also conduct ongoing research in our department. Topics of research include general pediatric radiology; radiation dose reduction; safety of contrast media with emphasis on gadolinium for MRI imaging; imaging of liver diseases; ultrasound elastography of the liver and musculoskeletal system; thyroid sonography; imaging of pediatric acute appendicitis; imaging diseases of the pediatric chest, lungs and airway; and the radiologic diagnosis of conditions associated with sickle cell disease.
