Podiatric Medicine & Surgery Residency

The Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program at Montefiore Einstein is a three-year comprehensive program accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME). It provides our residents with an excellent medical and surgical background to manage a spectrum of podiatric problems.

Education Experience

Our robust curriculum includes block rotations, outpatient clinics, journal clubs and weekly didactic lectures. Residents are trained in all aspects of the medical management of podiatric pathology, as well as foot and ankle surgery. 

Our Podiatric Division is fully integrated into Montefiore Einstein Orthopedic Surgery, giving our residents firsthand experience with a large number of surgical cases, including foot and ankle trauma. Residents of our program also have access to Jacobi Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center.

Our residents in podiatric medicine and surgery receive comprehensive training in the treatment of all manner of foot and ankle conditions. These are the rotations by year:

  • Rheumatology 
PGY-3: 
  • Jacobi Medical Center trauma rotation 
  • Outpatient podiatry surgery clinic 
  • Podiatric surgery 
  • Private office rotation

Application Guidelines

All applicants must complete the official application form through the Central Application Service for Podiatric Residencies (CASPR). The Centralized Residency Interview Program (CRIP) is a gathering of residency candidates and podiatric resident selection committees held at one time and in one place for the purpose of conducting interviews. CRIP takes place over a six-day period in January.
