Attention & Learning Assessment Service (ATLAS)

About Our Program

The Attention and Learning Assessment Service (ATLAS) at Montefiore Einstein is a specialized outpatient program that provides comprehensive assessments for individuals aged 6 and older. Our specialists focus on the evaluation of learning disorders and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents and adults. At Montefiore Einstein, we recognize the unique challenges faced by individuals with learning and attention difficulties, and our goal is to deliver thorough, personalized evaluations that lead to a deeper understanding of cognitive, emotional and behavioral functioning.

Our Services

ATLAS offers a range of services to assess intellectual, academic, emotional/behavioral and neuropsychological functioning. These comprehensive evaluations help clarify ADHD diagnoses and serve to determine eligibility for educational interventions, classroom accommodations or workplace adjustments. Assessments may include clinical interviews, behavioral questionnaires, cognitive testing, observation and gathering a thorough history of developmental milestones and any previous interventions.

Our team will provide feedback and discuss our findings and recommendations after our evaluation. All assessments are designed to provide insights that support creating plans that meet each patient’s unique needs and foster educational and occupational success. It is important to note that these services are often not covered by health insurance, as they are typically considered educational rather than medical in nature.

Your ATLAS Team

Our team of expert neuropsychologists, including Dr. Bryan Freilich, Dr. Nicole Feirsen, Dr. Jodi Uderman and Dr. Elyssa Scharaga, is dedicated to delivering evaluations that inform and guide the development of individualized educational plans and accommodations, whether in the classroom or workplace.
