ICP en THE POINT Exposiciones de fotografía

El Programa de Artes Curativas de Montefiore coordina la instalación permanente en Montefiore de fotografías creadas por estudiantes del ICP en THE POINT, una colaboración entre el Centro Internacional de Fotografía y la Corporación de Desarrollo Comunitario THE POINT. The following Montefiore divisions are curerntly sponsoring exhibitions of the photographs:

  • Montefiore Medical Group

  • Centro JE y ZB Butler para Niños y Familias

THE POINT is a non-profit dedicated to youth development in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx.  ICP is the world’s leading institution dedicated to the practice and understanding of photography and the reproduced image.  ICP at THE POINT is a yearlong youth program that teaches photography, writing and public speaking to foster self-esteem, community development and social change.

The images on exhibit are drawn from an archive spanning the past 16 years of ICP at THE POINT.  In acquiring this youth-created artwork, Montefiore succeeds in beautifying its space while reflecting the medical center’s community-driven mission. All proceeds from the sale of the work are shared between the individual student photographers and ICP at THE POINT.
