How to Apply
Eligible candidates will have completed a doctoral-level degree (PhD or PsyD) from an American Psychological Association (APA)/Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS)-accredited clinical or counseling psychology graduate program and an APA/Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)-accredited predoctoral internship. They will possess a strong, demonstrated interest in working with a diverse, multicultural and systematically under-resourced population.
Before starting, all candidates must reside in New York State and obtain a Limited Permit for Persons Gaining Experience for Licensure issued by the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, Division of Professional Licensing Services. With the exception of the Neuropsychology fellowship which is two years, our fellowships are one-year, full-time (approximately 45 hours/week) postdoctoral positions.
Tentative start date is September 15, 2026; subject to change.
The current stipend is $75,000. Postdoctoral fellows also receive comprehensive medical and dental coverage, medical insurance, 20 vacation days, 12 sick days, nine hospital holidays, up to five conference days and $2,000 conference support for their professional development. Fellows also have full use of the Montefiore Einstein and Albert Einstein College of Medicine libraries, including free interlibrary loans and online access to full-text journals, e-books and streaming videos.

The Postdoctoral Residency Program in Health Service Psychology at Montefiore Einstein requires a background check, pre-employment drug testing and medical clearance as a condition of employment.

- A cover page with your name, preferred email for contact, doctoral program, and current internship placement (including start and end dates).
- A cover letter detailing your specific strengths and the unique experiences you plan to bring to our program (no more than two pages).
- A separate statement of interest in one (or more) of our specialized tracks and the learning opportunities that specific track (or tracks) offers that you hope to gain toward your professional goals and interests (no more than one page each).
- A curriculum vitae
- Three letters of recommendation from individuals knowledgeable about your clinical skills (may be sent directly by recommenders to PBSPsychologyFellowship@montefiore.org or by the applicant as signed PDFs).
- Unofficial graduate school transcripts.
Please compile all documents (other than recommendations and transcripts) into a single file (.doc or PDF). Please do not repeat cover page information on other documents. Applications will be accepted starting in mid-November each year; November 14, 2025 for the 2026-2027 academic year. Interviews will be scheduled in November and/or December, and offers will be extended soon after completion of the interview process.

- CV (which includes a brief description of internship rotations)
- Two redacted comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation reports
- Three (3) signed letters of recommendation (at least one from an internship supervisor).
Interviews will be conducted virtually. Three interview dates will be offered: 12/17/2025, 12/22/2025, 1/13/2026. We will begin making offers following completion of interviews until the position is filled. Please note, by accepting a postdoctoral training position at our site, the applicant is agreeing to complete TWO full years of fellowship training.
