Isaac Faith, a fourth-year medical student at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, was selected as one of 19 medical students nationwide to receive a 2025-26 Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation fellowship. The prestigious honor, based on academic achievement and leadership ability, supports Mr. Faith’s year-long translational research project on cardiovascular disease.

Mr. Faith is spending his fellowship year at Massachusetts General Hospital under the mentorship of cardiothoracic surgeon Asishana Osho, M.D., Ph.D. His work will focus on evaluating novel surgical strategies and cardiovascular devices using real-world clinical data. He will study underlying reasons for cardiac transplantation success or failure, with the goal of improving care and shaping the design of future cardiovascular trials. Mr. Faith also will collaborate with physicians skilled in complex cardiovascular care, representatives from the Food and Drug Administration and the medical device industry, and data science experts. As part of the fellowship, he will present his findings at national scientific meetings and prepare an original research paper for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

Mr. Faith said two mentors motivated his interest in the field of cardiothoracic surgery and research: Raja Flores, M.D. ’92, chair of thoracic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center and a member of Einstein’s Board of Trustees, and Brendon Stiles, M.D., professor and chief, thoracic surgery and surgical oncology at Montefiore Einstein and associate director for surgical services, Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mr. Faith’s fellowship sponsor is Nicholas Sibinga, M.D., professor of medicine and of developmental & molecular biology and the Charles and Tamara Krasne Faculty Scholar in Cardiovascular Research at Einstein.
