Psychiatry Research Institute at Montefiore Einstein (PRIME)
The Psychiatry Research Institute of Montefiore Einstein (PRIME) was established in 2017 to provide an infrastructure for a steadily growing research enterprise. Ongoing and projected areas of research include:
- Basic and translational studies using a variety of state-of-the-science and emerging approaches
- Clinical trials evaluating promising pharmacological, psychotherapeutic and neurostimulation-based approaches to challenging psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders
- Neuroimaging in populations with or at risk for mental illness and substance use disorders
- Bioinformatics research relevant to behavioral health and mental illness
- Health disparities and multicultural mental health research
PRIME is committed to:
- Developing an environment that encourages creative, interdisciplinary research that promotes health and wellness and advances understanding and treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders
- Supporting a broad base of science and scholarship on areas from neural circuits to mental health policy
- Engaging meaningfully with and contributing to the diverse communities served by Montefiore and Einstein.
