Our Montefiore Behavioral Health Center (MBHC) community-focused clinics at Westchester Square and Washington Avenue strive to maintain open access to services for mental health, primary care and substance use disorders. MBHC is one of the largest outpatient psychiatry programs in the Bronx, providing a range of specialty programs at both of our locations.

As a staple in the Bronx community for years, the Moses Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Division provides compassionate talk therapy and medication management as part of our comprehensive mental health support service. We offer various treatment modalities to address the specific needs of the patients in our community.

As part of our comprehensive mental health support service at our Wakefield Campus, we offer compassionate talk therapy and medication management, as well as various treatment modalities to address the specific needs of patients in our community. Our campus also has a co-located substance use treatment program at the Wakefield Recovery Center.

We offer various treatment modalities to address the specific needs of the patients in our community.

At the Wakefield Child Outpatient Psychiatry Division, we provide compassionate talk therapy and medication treatment as part of our comprehensive mental health support service for children and adolescents. We offer various treatment modalities to address the specific needs of patients and their families.

We provide behavioral health urgent care services, psychiatric specialty consultations, geriatric psychiatry and behavioral health evaluations, letters of support for bariatric surgery and psychiatric services for patients not yet enrolled in the Department’s outpatient clinics.

Arts & Integrative Medicine (AIM) combines integrative medicine with creative arts therapy facilitated by licensed mental health professionals. It uses innovative practices to help adults and children achieve developmental, behavioral, mental and physical health goals.

The Anxiety and Mood Program (AMP) at the Moses Child Outpatient Psychiatry Division offers evidence-based interventions for youth with primary and comorbid anxiety, trauma, mood and other related disorders.

The Comprehensive Brain Health Center brings together leading board certified physicians in the fields of neurology, neurological surgery, psychiatry and allied neuroscience disciplines, along with the most advanced technological modalities, to greatly enhance clinical diagnosis and treatment of nervous system disorders at a single location.

As a community-focused and research-driven program, the CARE Program at Montefiore Einstein combines methods from attachment theory and developmental psychopathology for children aged 6–18. CARE has been found to reduce parenting stress, improve caregiver reflective functioning and strengthen youth-reported attachment security.

Our DBT Program provides dialectical behavior therapy for adults with behavioral and affect dysregulation. Individuals participating in the Program may be diagnosed with a range of disorders, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders and substance use disorders.

This collaborative effort between the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM) and Child Psychiatry cares for patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID) and sub-threshold disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

OnTrackNY supports the well-being of young people who are impacted by unexpected changes in their thinking and perceptions and who have been diagnosed with newly emergent non-affective psychotic disorders.

Our Geriatric Psychiatry Division provides specialty services for older adults experiencing behavioral health issues. We excel in delivering collaborative care across community-based agencies that are sensitive to the increasing number of older adults. 

This program features emerging treatments, such as esketamine for acute and treatment-resistant depression, as well as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Our neuropsychological assessments evaluate how an individual’s brain functions, providing information about the brain’s structural and functional integrity. This testing may be requested for various reasons, such as to confirm a diagnosis, to assess cognitive strengths and weaknesses and to help determine treatment plans or other interventions.

The Attention, Memory and Frontal Abilities Screening Test (AMFAST) is a novel, 10-minute, paper-and-pencil measure developed to identify attention, processing speed, memory and executive functioning deficits in children and adults with various conditions characterized by frontal-subcortical dysfunction.

The Attention & Learning Assessment Service (ATLAS) offers a range of services to assess intellectual, academic, emotional, behavioral and neuropsychological functioning. These comprehensive evaluations help clarify attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) diagnoses and serve to determine eligibility for educational interventions, classroom accommodations or workplace adjustments.

The Perinatal Psychiatry Program provides diagnosis, diagnostic clarification, medication management and support in discharge planning for perinatal patients with acute psychiatric complaints.

Dedicated to providing evidence-based therapy for trauma-related disorders, THRIVE offers psychotherapy for patients who are seeking treatment for trauma-related distress, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex PTSD, racism-related stress and trauma, interpersonal violence, exposure to disasters and all other traumas.

Our Sports Mental Health Institute and Performance Institute promotes the mental well-being of athletes at all levels, from high school to Olympic and professional sports, with a comprehensive approach that combines evidence-based clinical services, mental health research, clinical training for the next generation of sports mental health practitioners and advocacy for greater mental health awareness across sports.

Our Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) and outpatient programs include psychiatric and psychotherapy services to address co-existing conditions such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorders and others.

Project Rising provides recovery care for adolescents and young adults aged 14–24 and older who have a substance use disorder or who have a history of substance use and would like to prevent relapse.

The Substance Abuse Treatment Program offers care for adults 18 years and older who have an opioid use disorder. Additionally, services are available for adults with a history of substance use who would like to prevent relapse, as well as family members or significant others of individuals who are using drugs or alcohol and would like assistance getting their loved one into treatment.

Patients enrolled in the Substance Abuse Treatment Program at the Wakefield Recovery Center can access a wide range of treatment modalities for a range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, benzodiazepines, heroin, fentanyl and other opiates.

The Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Montefiore Behavioral Health Center is a virtual program that provides intensive medication management and psychotherapy services for individuals with a range of mental health conditions who require a higher level of care. Patients engage in both group and individual psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral therapy—CBT and DBT) as well as various specialty tracks.

The Wakefield Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic offers an Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for youths between the ages of 12 and 17. This program is designed to support teens who may be struggling with emotion dysregulation, exacerbated mood or anxiety symptoms, interpersonal challenges and impulsivity.
