Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates

About Our Program

At Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates, our renowned psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers are ready to talk with you. Mental health concerns touch over 47 million Americans every year, yet asking for help is still one of the most significant hurdles people face. This is why we offer in-person and convenient video therapy visits for children and adults, individuals and couples from every walk of life for a wide range of conditions such as anxiety, depression and stress. Grounded in innovation, research and empathy, we compassionately support healthy minds to create healthy lives for everyone.

Your Therapist Can See You at Home

Montefiore Einstein Psychiatry Associates offers the convenience of face-to-face video therapy sessions with our clinicians.

Even though video therapy differs from in-person sessions, you can still speak with your therapist about any issue you may have in a safe and secure environment. Like in-person sessions, your therapist will listen, offer feedback and help you reach your desired resolution.

Employer Partnerships

We are pleased to work with employers who support employees with preferred access to convenient, timely, high-quality mental health services. Our faculty practice consists exclusively of skilled psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers affiliated with the only health system in New York City recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for its distinction in behavioral health.

Our Services & Treatments

Some adults are new to mental health treatment, while others have had years of experience. Regardless of your background, we take an individualized approach, starting with an expert assessment. We always respect your unique history, preferences and goals. Then, we review various suitable treatment options based on steadily advancing knowledge in our field, and we work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan best suited to helping you achieve positive outcomes.

Our psychologists and psychiatrists also see children and adolescents from preschool through high school and early college. We provide expert assessment and tailored treatment, including different forms of developmentally appropriate psychotherapy and medication treatment where needed. Our therapists work closely to support parents and guardians during a challenging time. We coordinate care with pediatricians, guidance counselors, school deans or other professionals, where appropriate. Whether your child or adolescent is contending with depression, anxiety, attention difficulties, substance use disorders, eating disorders, interpersonal challenges or adjusting to a new grade or starting college, we want to ensure they receive state-of-the-art care from the right treatment provider or team.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations

Our treatment planning begins with an expert assessment that includes an interview with a mental health professional, supplemented as needed by selected questionnaires and, in some cases, additional testing. We want to clearly understand your initial problems, overall preferences and ultimate goals so that we may develop the most patient-centered and effective plan possible.

Individual Psychotherapy

Also called talk therapy, individual psychotherapy involves meeting with a psychologist, social worker or psychiatrist. These sessions can use one or more evidence-based approaches, such as cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, interpersonal therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The choice of therapeutic approach is often based on what is known about the success of different methods for treating each condition and on your preferences.

Group Therapy

Some forms of talk therapy are particularly effective in a group setting led by an experienced psychologist, social worker or psychiatrist. Participants in the group benefit from the skills and insights of the therapist leading the group and gain from the opportunity to support and learn from each other.

Family & Couples Therapy

Our psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists can meet with families or couples during challenging times. Family and couples therapy can be an effective way of addressing relationship problems from multiple perspectives. In some cases, only a few sessions are needed to evaluate and strategize around an impasse in a relationship or a complex family dynamic. Others can benefit from ongoing treatment to successfully develop the tools to tackle persistent challenges.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

We offer an evidence-based, family-centered approach that helps parents or guardians of young children with behavioral problems. This form of therapy was developed with focus on young children and their families’ unique developmental skills and needs.

Medication Treatments

Our psychiatrists have substantial expertise with medications developed to safely treat a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Some individuals can be treated with medications alone. Others benefit from a combination of drugs and psychotherapy, while others still may only require psychotherapy. Special consultation is also available for those interested in the risks and benefits of medications during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Our faculty practitioners continuously integrate current best treatment practices for different conditions with a patient’s preferences and health goals.

Neuropsychological Testing & Evaluation

We offer in-depth testing for children, adolescents and adults who exhibit learning, attentional or cognitive problems, including suspected learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, mild cognitive impairment and dementia. Our comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations usually include a four- to six-hour session or several shorter sessions. We then review the assessment report with you and discuss our recommendations.
