About Our Program
Inpatient psychiatric services for adult and geriatric patients at Montefiore Einstein are provided within the general hospital at the Moses and Wakefield campuses. Both units treat patients with a wide range of affective, psychotic and neuropsychiatric disorders. The mission of our inpatient psychiatric program is to provide the highest level of intensive, expeditious and patient-focused clinical care.
The treatment team includes psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed creative art therapists and nursing staff. All staff collaborate to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and determine individualized treatment plans that include an at-home care plan once the patient leaves the inpatient program. Additionally, both the Moses and Wakefield units serve as training locations for psychiatry residents, psychology interns, medical students and creative art therapists.
A recognized leader in psychiatric treatment, our Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is dedicated to healing and recovery for those who are battling mental health disorders and addiction issues. In addition to our inpatient care, we provide a wide range of outpatient services, comprehensive emergency and crisis programs, psychiatric consultations for hospitalized patients and a full array of addiction treatment programs.
Our Services
Adult and geriatric patients work with a multidisciplinary treatment team and participate in individual, family and group therapy sessions. Medication is prescribed as determined by our staff.
Our team of specialists provides care at the Moses facility in Klau 2, a 22-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, and at the Wakefield campus in 7 South, a 33-bed unit.

Our programs are equipped to provide behavioral health services in person or via our Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant telehealth platform. Most insurance providers offer coverage for our services—please call to inquire. Additionally, multilingual or interpreter services may be available.
