We offer numerous psychiatry fellowship opportunities in a wide variety of subspecialties, including addiction psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry, providing specialized training for the next generation of psychiatrists. Our programs offer fellows advanced subspecialized training with broad clinical and research experiences and mentorship from world-renowned experts.

Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship

The Montefiore Einstein Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program is a one-year American Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-approved training program for graduates of general psychiatry residency programs. Fellows gain a wide variety of clinical experiences, including opioid replacement treatment with methadone and buprenorphine, mentally ill chemical abuse (MICA) outpatient treatment (adult and adolescent), an inpatient detoxification, and a general hospital-based substance abuse consultation service.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

The Montefiore Einstein Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Program provides academic and training excellence in child and adolescent psychiatry, supports innovative research and is committed to enhancing the access and delivery of high-quality child and adolescent psychiatry services to children, adolescents and families in the New York Metropolitan Area.

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship

Consultation-liaison psychiatry fellows have the opportunity to serve a diversity of patients in clinical settings where they master the diagnosis and management of the psychiatric aspects of medical illness through hands-on teaching, innovative didactics and personalized supervision in the areas of addiction psychiatry, transplant psychiatry, reproductive psychiatry, rehabilitation psychiatry, psycho-oncology, HIV psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and pain medicine.

Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program

This unique program combines a comprehensive didactic curriculum with an extensive and varied array of forensic experiences in order to equip future forensic psychiatrists with the broadest base of forensic knowledge, skills, judgment, attitudes and values to fully practice all facets of forensic psychiatry in an astute, sophisticated and sensitive manner.

Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship

The Montefiore Einstein Division of Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship aims to provide psychiatrists with special training in geriatrics for positions of leadership in the areas of clinical service, teaching and training, scientific study, administration and public policy. The division’s educational, clinical and scientific objectives are achieved across six sites, with four full-time faculty members and two full-time fellows, augmented by close collaboration with the Division of Geriatric Medicine.
