About Our Program
The Moses Child Outpatient Psychiatry Division at Montefiore Einstein provides comprehensive and individualized treatment for a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions in children, adolescents and adults. Compassionate care is delivered by licensed professionals and clinicians with extensive clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions, including anxiety and other mood disorders.
The Anxiety and Mood Program (AMP) at the Moses Child Outpatient Psychiatry Division offers evidence-based interventions for youth with primary and comorbid anxiety, trauma, mood and other related disorders. The AMP serves children, adolescents and emerging adults between the ages of 4 and 21 from the surrounding Bronx communities.
Patients can receive thorough diagnostic evaluations, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, medication and neurostimulation treatments, as well as neuropsychological testing and evaluations provided by licensed professionals. Our experts include psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed mental health counselors and licensed creative arts therapists.
Our specialized treatment plans include comprehensive youth and caregiver assessments as well as individual- or family-based cognitive-behavioral treatments. Members of our expert team also partner, collaborate and consult with schools and community agencies and are available to present talks and workshops on how to help youth and their families cope with a range of emotional and behavioral problems, including:
- Adjustment disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Conduct disorders
- Depression and depressive disorders
- Stress
- Suicidal ideation and coping with suicide loss
Our programs are equipped to provide behavioral health services in person or via our Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant telehealth platform. Our Services
Treatment at the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Program includes individual- or family-based cognitive-behavioral treatments such as:
- Comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics
- Coping Cat
- Exposure/response prevention
- Parent management training
- Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
The AMP also provides cognitive behavioral group therapy for socially anxious adolescents and parent skills groups. Patients may also participate in individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, family therapy and medication management. Enrolled patients may be considered for the Adolescent Depression and Suicide Program or the Eating Disorders Program at Montefiore Einstein.
