Women’s Health Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Fellowship
The Women’s Health Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Fellowship at Montefiore provides one year of advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of women’s health specific conditions. Our program is the first in the United States to offer a unique approach to female specific rehabilitation care.
Our mission is to address the rehabilitation needs and improve the quality of life of all women through an emphasis on patient centered care.
This is an unaccredited fellowship with training that focuses specifically on the gender differences of musculoskeletal conditions, female pelvic floor dysfunctions, musculoskeletal disorders of pregnancy, delivery and post-partum periods, osteoporosis, and the management of impairments caused by female specific cancers.
Institutions used for clinical training include Montefiore, The University Hospital for Einstein College of Medicine, and Weiler Hospital.
The program includes a continuity outpatient clinic at Montefiore Medical Park where the fellows treat patients during the year and consultations at the Montefiore Medical Center hospitals. Protected time for research is provided throughout the year.
