Your child will need comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing without drawstrings, pajamas, socks and underwear, as well as a jacket or coat for outdoor activities. They should also bring slip-on or lace-free shoes, and it is important to note that all personal items will be reviewed and approved by staff upon admission to ensure a safe environment.
You may contact your child’s psychiatrist or social worker at any time for updates or to discuss their treatment plan, as these team members serve as your primary points of contact. Staff maintain clear boundaries for privacy and safety during all phone calls, and they provide regular updates to keep you informed about your child’s progress.
There are designated times during the day when patients may use the unit phones. If you would like to reach your child, please call the nursing station at 347-842-3900, and a nurse will assist in connecting you. Patient phone times are:
- 6:00AM-9:00AM
- 12:00PM-1:00PM

Based on this assessment and information gathered from multiple sources, the treatment team develops an individualized plan tailored to your child’s unique needs, identifies key treatment goals and recommends therapeutic strategies.
Yes, family involvement is central to care, and parents and caregivers are encouraged to visit regularly, as it is an essential part of your child’s recovery.
