Our Research
At Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care we offer a research-focused, evidence-based approach to cardiac care. Our patients have access to world-renowned cardiac specialists and groundbreaking treatments; we continuously conduct numerous clinical trials for patients with cardiac disease.
Interdisciplinary Research Programs
Our interdisciplinary research programs bring together bench and physician-scientists from numerous academic fields to collaborate on basic and translational research. Our research teams work closely together across departments to provide comprehensive insight into each patient’s condition, leading to novel diagnostic and innovative treatment options not widely available elsewhere.
Research Institutes & Initiatives
At Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care, we focus on all areas of cardiac research, working across disciplines to better understand cardiovascular and cardiac conditions and improve clinical outcomes. This work is conducted by research scientists in our Interdisciplinary Research Programs.

Research Training Programs
As part of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, our research programs serve to train the next generation of cardiologists and research scientists. We offer both a Ph.D program and a Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). Students gain exposure to biomedical research lab work, clinical pathology, and more. Einstein’s Belfer Institute for Advanced Biomedical Studies integrates all of the college’s postdoctoral training programs, serving as an advocate for trainees at this stage.
Professional Development & Educational Opportunities
We’re committed to helping our teams grow professionally and advance in their respective fields. We offer extensive cardiac research education and training programs for students and professionals.
