Education - Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart & Vascular Care - New York City

Montefiore Einstein Center for Heart & Vascular Care offers rigorous and comprehensive graduate medical education training programs for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Our Cardiology Fellowship Program is a three-year program organized by areas of intellectual discipline, including core clinical training, career focus, and research. In addition to this program, we also offer one-year fellowships in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation; Interventional Cardiology; Advanced Cardiac Imaging; and Cardiac Arrhythmia.

The traditional two-year Cardiothoracic Fellowship program at Montefiore Einstein is one of the oldest traditional training programs in the country and was one of the first programs to acquire formal ACGME accreditation. The fellowship includes dedicated rotations as well as a dedicated thoracic surgery track. Montefiore Einstein Cardiothoracic Surgery also offers an accredited integrated six-year training program with the first three-years focused on broad-based surgical training and the final three-years dedicated to thoracic, congenital heart surgery, and adult cardiac surgery.

One of the longest-standing programs in the country, the Vascular Surgery Residency and Fellowship Programs at Montefiore Einstein have a rich history of serving a population that’s significantly impacted by cardiovascular disease. Our five-year Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program offers training that allows senior residents to function at a level commensurate with those in our Fellowship Program. Fellows also have the opportunity to hone their teaching skills while working with residents in general surgery and other sub-specialties, as well as medical students who rotate on the vascular service.
