Comprehensive, Collaborative Care
The Montefiore Einstein Heart Failure and transplantation Program comprises a cross-collaborative team of cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiac imaging specialists who contribute to each patient’s treatment plan in order to arrive at the most effective solutions, from medical therapy to transplant. We treat patients across all areas of care for heart failure, depending on their type and stage of disease.
Our Program considers treatment options according to the stage and severity of heart failure, offering medical, surgical, and mechanical circulatory support treatment options:
Evaluation for resynchronization therapy with a biventricular pacemaker or defibrillator implantation
Complex coronary revascularization, valve surgery, ventricular restoration, and arrhythmia repair
Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) or mechanical heart pumps may be used as a transplant alternative or as a bridge to transplant while the patient is awaiting a donor heart
