About Our Programs
The Montefiore Einstein Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences has a broad network of treatment programs for substance use disorder, providing compassionate, evidence-based outpatient care throughout the Bronx. Our dedicated team of addiction treatment professionals includes medical providers, mental health clinicians, peer advocates and support staff who assist our patients in developing the skills they need to reach their goals.
Over the past 40 years, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences’ Division of Services for Addiction has helped thousands of individuals enter recovery and rejoin their families and communities. Through recovery, individuals are empowered to find meaning in their lives and integrate into their communities.
Our Services
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences’ Substance Abuse Treatment Programs (SATPs) build upon a harm-reduction framework to integrate addiction medications such as methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone®) with patient-centered, state-of-the-art, supported care.
There are five Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) across various locations within the outpatient SATP network, each providing multiple services. The SATPs offer care for adults 18 years and older who have an opioid use disorder. Additionally, services are available for adults with a history of substance use disorder who would like to prevent relapse, as well as family members or significant others of individuals who are using drugs or alcohol and would like assistance getting their loved one into treatment.

Montefiore Einstein’s outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Programs assist adults aged 18 and older in the treatment of a range of substance use disorders, including alcohol, cocaine, cannabis, benzodiazepines, heroin, fentanyl and other opiates.
Our programs are equipped to provide behavioral health services in person or via our Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant telehealth platform. Most insurance providers offer coverage for our services—please call to inquire. Additionally, multilingual or interpreter services may be available.
