The Montefiore Einstein Cardiac Sarcoidosis Program provides state-of-the-art comprehensive care for the diagnosis and management of this complex disease. Additionally, highly personalized treatment plans are formulated for patients with cardiac sarcoidosis in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team. We provide the following treatments for patients with cardiac sarcoidosis:

• Immunosuppressive therapies such as corticosteroids or other steroid sparing agents
• Pacemaker and implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD) to treat heart rhythm disorders and to protect from sudden cardiac death
• Ablation procedures for cardiac arrhythmias that help reduce the risk of life threatening heart rhythms
• Heart transplant or a heart pump (LVAD) for end-stage heart failure

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory condition that can affect multiple organs. In cardiac sarcoidosis, tiny collections of immune cells form granulomas in the heart tissue, which can interfere with normal heart functioning.
