Our Mission
We are the main medical provider in a community of approximately 1.5 million people. Our mission is to improve function and decrease pain in our community using responsible pharmacological mindedness, sound clinical judgment, and good science, with integration of the newest interventional techniques.
The Rehabilitation Medicine Pain Service is dedicated to excellence in patient care with a focus on maximizing the function and health of individuals by minimizing pain, suffering and disability. Such care includes the delivery of acute and comprehensive pain medicine services in an interdisciplinary continuum of care geared toward the most positive, cost effective outcome possible. Care is to be rendered in a respectful manner to all patients.
The Educational Goal of the Pain fellowship program is to prepare Pain fellows for the independent practice of Pain Management, acquiring all general and Pain Medicine specific core competencies.
The fellowship is dedicated to providing our fellows with excellent clinical and didactic education requisite for the practice of Pain Management. We are actively enrolling patients in several clinical trials and are in a perpetual state of academic research. The program also prepares the fellows for future global Medical fiscal changes by educating them in the business and administrative aspects of Pain Medicine. A special focus is given to the personal development of the Pain fellow, recognizing that excellent Pain Medicine specialists require both knowledge and skill in order to deliver the best possible patient care in a caring, respectful manner. We are committed to providing Pain fellows the opportunity to excel in academic and clinical pain practice.
