Patrick F. Timmins III, MD, FACOG, FACS, is an attending physician at Montefiore Einstein and Vice Chair, Legislative Affairs at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Timmins addresses the individual needs and demands of patients in a warm and caring environment, providing a full range of gynecologic oncology services, including advanced gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, chemotherapy treatment and palliative care.
After receiving his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at The Ohio State University College of Biological Sciences in 1988, Dr. Timmins earned his Doctor of Medicine, cum laude, at the same institution in 1992. He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at Magee-Womens Hospital, University of Pittsburgh, in 1996, followed by a gynecologic oncology fellowship at Montefiore Einstein in 1999.
Dr. Timmins’ research focuses on recruiting and facilitating patients’ entry into clinical trials, patient outcomes, as well as mentoring young investigators. He has been principal investigator and co-principal investigator on multiple research projects and his work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications and abstracts. He has been a reviewer for Gynecologic Oncology for multiple years.
Dr. Timmins is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Timmins has been named a “Top Doctor” by Castle Connolly since 2013. In 2020, he was recognized as a Surgeon of Excellence in minimally invasive surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation. Dr. Timmins was recently elected to the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons.
