Kelly D. Nahum, DO, is an attending surgeon at Montefiore Einstein and Assistant Professor, Surgery at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is in emergency general surgery and surgical critical care.
After earning her Master of Science in biomedical sciences at Rutgers University in 2011, Dr. Nahum earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at the New York Institute of Technology in 2015. She completed her general surgery internship at New York University-Brooklyn in 2016, followed by her general surgery residency at the same institution in 2020. Dr. Nahum then completed a surgical critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University in 2021 and an acute care surgery fellowship at the same institution in 2022.
Dr. Nahum’s research is focused in quality improvement, outcome research, complex wound management, surgical education and traumatic brain injury (TBI) management. Her research has been published in several peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Nahum is board certified in Surgical Critical Care and General Surgery. She is a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES).
