Upon graduation from Harvard University, Dr. Racine was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Health Service National Research Service Award trainee in the combined MD/PhD program at New York University. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Racine returned to New York City as a faculty member for six years in the Division of General Pediatrics at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and he also was appointed to the National Bureau of Economic Research. He serves as Associate Director of Pediatrics at Jacobi Medical Center before transferring to Montefiore Medical Center as Chief of the Division of General Pediatrics. At Montefiore, Dr. Racine oversees two large academic practices that include attending pediatricians as well as pediatric residents.

Dr. Racine has received numerous awards, including the Lewis M. Fraad Award for Excellence in Teaching and the Emily Fenichel Award for Leadership in the New York Zero to Three Field. He was inducted into the Leo M. Davidoff Society of Albert Einstein College of Medicine for excellence in teaching. On a national level Dr. Racine has been very active in the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), serving as Chairman of the Advocacy Committee and Vice-President and President of Chapter 3, District II. He also serves on the National Committee on Child Health Financing of the AAP.
