Jeffrey Nissinoff, MD, MS, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Rehabilitation Medicine at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Nissinoff focuses on seeing patients for hospital-based inpatient rehabilitation consults. He has particular interests in neurologic and general rehabilitation as well as departmental clinical director-level administrative duties.

After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in biology and history at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1981, Dr. Nissinoff earned his Master of Science in physiology at Georgetown University Graduate School in 1987. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences Center in 1991. Following this, Dr. Nissinoff attended St. Francis Medical Center, completing his internship and residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation in 1995, where he was Chief Resident in his final year.

Building on his clinical focus, Dr. Nissinoff’s research lies in general medical, neurologic and cardiac rehabilitation. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Clinical Drug Investigation. He has also given national poster presentations.

Dr. Nissinoff is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a Fellow of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 2002, Dr. Nissinoff won the Director's Award for Excellence in Direct Patient Care from Montefiore Einstein.
