Rachel Held , PhD, is Lead Psychologist, Moses Adult Outpatient Psychiatry and Associate Director, Psychology Training at Montefiore Einstein. She is also Assistant Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Held’s clinical focus centers on using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to treat anxiety, depression and trauma. She also has an interest in using behavioral interventions to treat insomnia and chronic pain.
After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in psychology at Columbia University in 2002, Dr. Held completed her Master of Science in clinical psychology at Rutgers University in 2006. She then completed a psychology internship at Brown University in 2009, followed by her Doctor of Philosophy in clinical health psychology at Rutgers University in 2011.
Dr. Held’s research aligns with her clinical expertise. Her work has been shared through peer-reviewed publications and presentations and scientific meetings. She is also a reviewer for Behavior Therapy, the Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Transcultural Psychiatry.
