Iffath Abbasi Hoskins, MD, FACS, FACOG, is Vice Chair, Faculty Recruiting Retention & Development, Chief Obstetric Safety Officer and Associate Director, Labor and Delivery at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Hoskins’ clinical focus is on maternal fetal medicine.

In 1975, Dr. Hoskins earned her medical degree at Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan. She later came to the United States and pursued postgraduate training, completing a yearlong internship in psychiatry and internal medicine at George Washington University in 1978, followed by a yearlong psychiatry residency at George Washington University and St. Elizabeth’s Hospitals in 1979, and a three-year residency at National Naval Medical Center in 1982. In 1985, Dr. Hoskins completed her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Uniformed Services University of the Health Services, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine, National Naval Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Dr. Hoskins’ research focuses on surgical complications in obstetrics and infectious diseases in obstetrics. She has shared her extensive research through peer-reviewed journals, numerous invited presentations at national and international symposia, book chapters and media appearances. She is also a reviewer for several medical journals including Obstetrics & Gynecology, the American Journal of Perinatology, Military Medicine and British Medical Journal, among others.

Dr. Hoskins is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hoskins was the 73rd President of the ACOG and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, the New York Perinatal Society and the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. Dr. Hoskins has an endowed biomedical research facility, the "William and Iffath Hoskins Center for Biomedical Research" at the Savannah Campus of Mercer University in Georgia, to honor Dr. Hoskins’s contributions to women’s healthcare.
