What is Patient Safety?
Keeping you safe is one of the most important things we do. We work hard to make sure nothing goes wrong while you’re with us. We call this goal Zero Harm—we want zero mistakes that could hurt you.
Here’s how we help keep you safe:
- Our team stays one step ahead to stop safety issues early so you can get the best care.
- We make sure you and your family know what’s happening with your care.
- We encourage you to ask questions and speak up if something doesn't feel right.
If something does go wrong, we’ll tell you and learn from it so we can do better next time.
How We Keep You Safe
- We check that everyone washes their hands before touching patients.
- Nurses scan your ID bracelet and medicine to make sure it's the right one.
- We have safety steps in our computer systems to help doctors choose the right medicine. They're tested each year to make sure they work, and we pass 100% of the time.
- We use MyChart to share test results and updates.
- We follow the best steps to stop infections.

We know it can be hard for your family to visit while also working or taking care of things at home. That’s why we:
- Welcome visitors 24 hours a day.
- Help your loved ones stay in touch with video calls if they’re sick or need to stay home.
