Anne Felicia Ambrose, MD, MS, FAAPMR, is an attending physician and Professor and Vice Chair of Research at Montefiore Einstein. Dr. Ambrose’s clinical focus is on brain injury medicine, specializing in the care of patients with traumatic brain injury, early dementia, strokes and brain cancers. More recently, she has been providing care to post-COVID patients.

After earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at St. John’s Medical School in Bangalore, India, Dr. Ambrose later came to the United States, completing her surgery internship and residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Einstein. In 2008, she received her Master of Science in Clinical Research from Mount Sinai School of Medicine-New York University.

Dr. Ambrose’s research follows her clinical interest in brain injury and rehabilitation. She has shared her work through regional, national and international presentations, peer-reviewed journals and online publications, books and abstracts. She has also been a reviewer for several publications including the British Medical Journal, American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Science Direct.

Dr. Ambrose is a Diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is certified in Brain Injury Medicine. She is a member of the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP), the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR) and the International Society for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM). She is also an Executive Board member of the Foundation of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Ambrose has received many recognitions and accolades, including the American Medical Association Inspiration Award in 2020 and the Outstanding Service Award from the AAP in 2022.
