Matthew Schneider, MD, is Vice Chair for Clinical Services and Clinical Director of Psychiatry at Montefiore and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Schneider’s clinical focus is general adult psychiatry, in-patient psychiatry and psychopharmacology. In 1984, Dr. Schneider received his Bachelor of Arts at Cornell University. He then attended SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1988. He began his postgraduate training in 1988 with a preliminary year in internal medicine at Carney Hospital. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Montefiore in 1993, becoming Senior Chief Resident in his final year.

In 1984, Dr. Schneider received his Bachelor of Arts at Cornell University. He then attended SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1988. He began his postgraduate training in 1988 with a preliminary year in internal medicine at Carney Hospital. He then completed a residency in psychiatry at Montefiore in 1993, becoming Senior Chief Resident in his final year.

Since 1993, he has shared his work in psychiatry at many invited presentations across the country.  

Throughout his career, Dr. Schneider has served on many committees, including the Council on Quality Care at the American Psychiatric Association and Medical Student Education at Montefiore, where he served as Director.
