Cynthia C. Hung, MD, is an Attending Physician at Montefiore and is an assistant professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Since joining the Montefiore team, her clinical focus has been on strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and general rehabilitation management.

In 2009, Dr. Hung received her Bachelor of Arts in cell biology and neuroscience at Rutgers University. She then attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she received her Doctor of Medicine in 2013. Dr. Hung began her postgraduate training in 2013 as a preliminary medicine resident at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, completing her residency in 2014. She then became a physical medicine and rehabilitation resident at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, which she completed in 2017. Dr. Hung then continued training at NYU Langone Health as a brain injury medicine fellow to increase her expertise in this specialty.

Extending from her clinical interests, Dr. Hung’s research is also primarily focused on injuries of the brain and stroke. In 2012, she conducted research at Kessler Foundation Research Center on stroke patients with spatial neglect to determine their community mobility.  In 2017 she conducted research at NYU- Langone Medical Center on hand and arm rehabilitation after stroke. Her work has been presented nationally.

Dr. Hung is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists.
