Rachel Borlack, MD, is an attending physician and Assistant Professor, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Montefiore Einstein. Her clinical focus is in neurogastroenterology, motility and integrative medicine. In addition to endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures, Dr. Borlack performs and interprets advance motility procedures including anorectal manometry, impedance pH studies and esophageal manometry. She also has training in integrative medicine including hypnotherapy and acupressure.

A Bachelor of Science graduate from Boston University, Dr. Borlack pursued her medical degree at Einstein, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2014. She began her postdoctoral training at Columbia University Irving Medical Center at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, completing a residency in pediatrics in 2017 and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in 2020. She also trained in pediatric hypnotherapy in 2018, biostatistics and pediatric integrative medicine in 2019 and auricular acupressure in 2020.

Dr. Borlack’s research focuses on disorder of the brain gut axis, including irritable bowel syndrome, and the use of integrative medicine. She is published in acupressure in pediatric patients with abdominal pain disorders and has shared her work poster presentations and oral presentations in local, regional and national forums. She is also a reviewer for the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and OBM Integrative and Complementary Medicine.

Dr. Borlack is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Pediatric Gastroenterology. She is a member of several professional organizations including the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society.
