Tracey Straker, MD, MS, MPH, CBA, is Professor and Attending Physician in the Department of Anesthesiology at Montefiore-Einstein. She serves as Vice Chair of the department’s Clinical Operations, Director of the General Anesthesiology Division, Director of the Advanced Airway Fellowship, and Officer for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In addition to her roles at Montefiore-Einstein, Dr. Straker is a highly active advocate of and contributor to the medical community. She holds the rank of Adjunct Clinical Professor of Medicine at CUNY School of Medicine in New York City. She presently serves as the Speaker of the House in the New York State Society for Anesthesiologists (NYSSA) and President of the Society for Head and Neck Anesthesia (SHANA). She serves as Chairwoman of the Committee of Diversity and Inclusion at the Society for Education in Anesthesia, Director of the American Society for Anesthesiologists (ASA) Mentoring Grant, and President-Elect for the anesthesia section of the National Medical Association (NMA).
Dr. Straker attended the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, a 7-year BS/MD program based at City College in Harlem, New York. She graduated from New York Medical College with a combined MD/MPH degree in Medical Administration. In addition, she completed her Master of Science in Health Information Technology from Georgetown University and completed her Certificate in Business Administration from Northwestern University through the American Society for Anesthesiologists.
